I know what "new light" is REALLY in place for but come on, "overlapping generations"? How does anyone sit there and take this crap? It's like we get a pass to be airheads (not the candy). Why is religion the only place where this kind of blatant asinine reasoning flies? If I had to guess I'd blame faith (not Hill). Example: I went to a pawn shop and saw a Sega Nomad (for those not in the know, the Nomad was a portable Genesis system) they were selling for $60. I had one of these before, unfortunately it was stolen, so at this point I was feeling kinda nostalgic. I asked the guy to let me check it out. He opens the case, plugs it in, turns it on.....SEGAAAAAAAHHH! Oh yeah, I was a kid again. But I notice he is still holding it, he's pressing the buttons and trying to show me that it's ok. The game freezes, so he turns it off and back on again. It freezes again. So what's going on here? Does this guy actually want me to fork over $60 on something I myself haven't checked out? No dice. I take my fond memory and leave the store. You know, it's like watching the geek get hit on by the hot cheerleader. 9 times out of 10 it's done because she wants to make her boyfriend jealous. Then the viewers see the "look guy, this is as far as it goes" signals but he doesn't get it, and it's like how many times do you fall for it before waking up? That's how this "new light" is. If I talk about the iPod generation, I mean the group of people whose primary choice of portable audio was iPods. NOT the generation whos got MP3 players attached to the small bones of their ear. If the WTBTS is jerkovahs special channel well this is the ghostly anomaly in the otherwise normal photo.

1. If god told them directly how then did they get it wrong?

2. If jesus meant the two gens make up one how does god let his own people believe otherwise if he could produce new light?

3. Why even bother mentioning 1914 at all if they (anointed) were going to be pushing up daisies, so much so that "they are the ones who will see the ones who will make it to the new system"?

4. Will Batman solve the Riddlers trap in time to......... (sorry, that's from a whole... 'nother...... thing)

Could Facebook Defeat The Watchtower?

if you've been on boards such as this one for a long time, you may have noticed a profound change in what's posted.

on the old h2o board, you commonly had long, detailed debates concerning every aspect of watchtower doctrine and history.

while i thought i was very well informed in this area, i was often amazed at the stuff that came up that i'd never heard about.. and the discussions about 607 chronology were mind-numbingly extensive......... ...........but all that's over now!.

I think some people know it's crap but in their minds has been a seed placed called "Where else will we go?" It's like, there was a woman who left her husband but not without first contracting an STD from him. (he cheated on her) The husband wants her back and uses this as his reasoning: "well you may as well be with me cause no other man will want you". We can't do any better anywhere else because JW's are the troo regurgitation, I mean the true religion. They beat us over the head repeatedly with this. We can't do better. We're the truth. That terminator is out there, he can't be bargained with, he can't be reasoned with, he doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and he absolutely will not stop EVER, until we are dead. And if you manage to get past this horses**t, there's the "Oh well we aren't gonna talk to you anymore, come along Timmy" thing that they do.

Clarifications on the 2010 Generation Overlap

yet another generation thread... but this clears up quite a bit of the ambiguity in the watchtower/outline explanations.

in "remain in the secret place of the most high", the closing talk of the 2010 district convention, the following clarifications were made on the 2010 generation overlap:.

the generation spoken of in exodus 1:6 includes all those mentioned whose lives overlapped (joseph, brothers, children, grandchildren).

Exactly. I mean, here you have a deity who not only knows every human language on Earth but he also knows what even the animals/bugs are thinking. Couple that with every living thing in exsistence anywhere and everywhere. Yet, he still can't tell people point blank, when. What would be the harm in us knowing? Are women more susceptible to religion than males?

every church and kingdom hall i've been to seems to have a higher ratio of girls to guys.

is it because it taps into some emotional thing "jesus/jehovah loves you and therefore show love back by doing this and not doing that and......" is it a passive/agressive thing?

since males are hunters by design and adapt or construct ways to catch the female (who i am by no means calling weaker) can males "see" the bs because you can't bs a bs'er?
